Project Description and Scope of Services Experience Summary

Pezonella Associates provided the geotechnical engineering, material testing, and inspection services, and also served as the engineer of record for the UNR Mathewson IGT Knowledge Center.  The library and learning center is a 5-story structural steel frame building that is 296,766 square feet in size.  Unique features include a single pour of 2,700 cubic yards of concrete for the ASRS slab floor that was also used to form concrete beams monolithically at 60 feet above grade.  The Knowledge Center boasts more than one million volumes of books and published journals, 20,000 electronic journals and thousands of e-books, close to 300 research databases, a high-tech automated book retrieval system, spacious reading rooms with “quiet” study areas, computing and dataworks laboratories, smart class rooms and conference rooms, state of the art computer and wireless systems throughout, and a 170-seat auditorium.
